Build your first automation

Open Drumbeat → Automations. In Build Your Automation, enter a clear name and choose Record Source and Record Type. Built-in WordPress and Pods choices depend on the site. Choose Record is created and/or Record is updated for the events you want to handle.

Update Field Trigger can narrow update runs to selected fields. Leave both creation and update triggers unchecked for manual-only behavior unless you later choose the publication activation option.

Enable the Email and Social pill switches you need. Email Lists appear for Email; Buffer Profiles appear for Social. Select actual destinations before running. If profiles are missing, connect Buffer and save its enabled profiles in Settings.

Template mode uses the selected email/social template. AI mode generates source-based content using the configured provider and training. Use Draft with AI to help fill the builder, then review the resulting fields before saving. It is a drafting aid, not a substitute for checking the automation.

Complete Actions and Schedule, preview send times, then choose Save Automation or Save and Run. Saving and activating are separate states to verify on the automation card. Save and Run lets you choose future publications or an existing record; selecting existing content is optional.
