THE DRUMBEAT GUIDE

Manage roles and access

Separate Blue Flame customer accounts from permissions on a Drumbeat site.

Two different account contexts

#

Your Blue Flame Advisors customer account manages purchases, subscriptions, support, and licenses. WordPress users on a site running Drumbeat control access to that site. Giving someone a local WordPress role does not transfer ownership of your Blue Flame subscription.

Grant the required features

#

Settings → Roles provides role management, feature/menu visibility, admin-bar controls, and login redirect options. Give each role only the functions needed by that team. Drumbeat uses feature-specific access checks; broad administrator access is not required for every module, while settings remain administrator-only.

Users with more than one role

#

A user can have multiple WordPress roles when your role-management interface supports assigning them. Preserve an existing Customer role when adding a local Drumbeat role if both are required for that site. The default WordPress user editor may expose only one role; do not replace a user’s roles casually to make one menu visible.

Verify the experience

#

Test with a representative account after changing role access and redirects. Check both the menu and direct-page access. Page-category locks and login/register tools have separate effects; hiding navigation alone is not a security boundary.
